Kodiak Cleaner 0.8.27 Dev, released October 4, 2026. Free for everyone, with every feature.

Beta software: use at your own risk. Kodiak Cleaner is still in development, and more testing is needed before every feature can be confirmed to work as intended. It deletes things by design, so check what's selected before you clean and keep your own backups of anything important.

Install, Update and Uninstall

Install

  1. Download the Installer ZIP above.
  2. Open the ZIP and extract the .msi file.
  3. Double-click the .msi and follow the steps.

Portable: extract the Portable ZIP to any folder and run KodiakCleaner.exe.

Update

  • Installed: click Check Now under Settings > Updates, or turn on automatic updates there. You can also run a newer installer over the old one.
  • Portable: replace KodiakCleaner.exe and keep KodiakCleaner.ini and the Backups folder.

Your settings and backups are kept either way, and What's New shows what changed.

Uninstall

Uninstall Kodiak Cleaner from Windows Settings > Apps. Your registry backups stay in the Backups folder so you can still restore them; delete the Kodiak Cleaner folder to remove them too. For the portable version, just delete its folder.

Release Channels

Kodiak Cleaner is in the Dev channel (0.8.x). Beta (0.9.x) comes next, then Stable (1.x). Every channel installs to Program Files\Kodiak Cleaner, and updates stay on their own channel.
